MAS Robotics Team Preparing for Competition in Vienna

Vlogý Robotics Team

Here at MAS, we understand that Science is a field that is rapidly revolutionizing our world. The disciplines of informatics, electronics, and mechanics have a broad range of applications, from aeronautics to personalized medicine. Our students will be the future engineers, scientists, and doctors that will change the way we live our daily lives. Therefore, at MAS, we believe in not only a strong academic foundation, but also in offering our students hands-on learning and practical, challenging experiences.

This year, MAS Science Department introduced Robotics as a branch of the Science Club. Robotics is a fun and exciting way for our students to master invaluable skills in informatics, electronics, and mechanics. Further, such a challenging extracurricular activity will not only help prepare our students for the rigors of college, but will ultimately set them apart from their peers, helping them with admittance and scholarships at the best universities.

The Robotics Team, under the guidance of our Physics teacher, has been working on a competitive Sumo Robot design during breaks and after school for several months. Further, during the final stages of design and construction, an expert engineer will consult them and perfect this design. The end goal of all of this hard work is to display their robot and compete internationally.

On April 11/12, MAS Robotics Team will represent Jordan for the first time ever in the international RobotChallenge competition. The RobotChallenge, held in Vienna, Austria, is one of the largest events within the international field of robotics. Last year, 574 robots from 46countries competed in 15 different categories at RobotChallenge. During the competition, our students will get the opportunity to learn from experienced robot designers, and test their design strengths while competing against the top future engineers from all over the world. Further, in the days preceding the competition, they will have the opportunity to explore the rich culture, heritage, and beauty of Vienna.

We are very proud of our Robotics Team and wish them the best of luck!
