We were thrilled to welcome the representatives from six of the University of California campuses (Berkeley, Davis, Santa Barbara, Riverside, San Diego, and Los Angeles) on Wednesday, October 1st. College representatives met with our Counseling Department before their presentation at the school鈥檚 main auditorium. Later, following a Q & A session, representatives set up a college fair in the High School Mezzanine where interested students had a chance to speak to admissions officers more privately with their college counselors.聽
The fair allowed students to speak directly to counselors from the respective colleges and ask questions about the schools. Many of our high school students were able to gather information from potential schools they are interested in attending. We believe that it is imperative for students to get the chance to speak directly with school representatives because it gives them the opportunity to have face-to-face contact and have their questions answered immediately.
Although the college fair was for 10th-12th graders, we highly encourage 9th graders to begin thinking about what pathway they will need to go down in order to reach their goals. As an MAS high school student, you should begin thinking about just how many schools are available, not just in the United States, but in the world. Seniors are not the only ones who should be thinking about beginning their college search. Our college counselors are available during the week to address any questions regarding the application process, so please do not hesitate to talk to yours.
